SBPM has a specific Social Labour Plan (SLP) and Mining Charter community socio-economic development objectives. We create value by investing in health and educational infrastructure in our community.
Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine has invested more than R60 million in its host communities through the Social and Labour Plan(SLP).
This investment is in line with the Integrated Development Plan (IDPs) of Moses Kotane and Thabazimbi Local Municipalities as well as Bakgatla BA Kgafela Tribal Authority Masterplan to address critical areas of socio-economic needs of communities.
Social and Labour Plan projects focus on Infrastructure Development, Education and Skills Development, Health, Poverty Alleviation, and Enterprise Development. More than 19 projects have been committed to and are in the process.
These create job opportunities and skills development for local communities.
